Welcome to the Alexander County Communications Center page. Communications personnel are responsible for all emergency communications needs for Alexander County. A normal shift consists of three telecommunications personnel who work in conjunction with each other to answer an average of 500 calls for service that the center receives on a daily basis.
The communications center is operated by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office but provides emergency communications services to other agencies in Alexander County including the Taylorsville Police Department, Alexander Emergency Medical Services, Alexander Rescue Squad, and nine volunteer fire departments.

Greg Foster serves as Director for the Communications Center. He is tasked with overseeing the daily operational needs of the communications center, as well as coordinating the maintenance of the various communications equipment in operation.
